Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and Yuva Sena Chief Aaditya Thackeray on Tuesday morning cleaned the streets of suburban Bandra to spread the message of cleanliness.
Extending support to the central government's 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign, Tendulkar urged people to keep the city and its surroundings clean in order to make it not just beautiful, but also a healthy place.
"The garbage is dumped here and there while there are dustbins. I would request everyone not to litter and please do not deface the city," Sachin told mediapersons.
"We each have to do our bit to keep #IndiaClean. So, pick a group of friends, a street, and together let's #CleanUp India. #SwachhataHiSeva," Tendulkar tweeted after taking part in the campaign.

On September 15, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had picked up the broom and swept a lane in the busy Crawford market in south Mumbai while launching the 15-day sanitation campaign Swachhta Hi Seva (cleanliness is service) fortnight.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciating Sahin Tendulkar's initiative towards a sanitation campaign took to twitter and tweeted:
Happy to see wide scale participation by youngsters, including Arjun in #SwachhataHiSeva. Our Yuva Shakti will make a Swachh Bharat. https://t.co/m60mYvsY7w

Sachin Tendulkar has the best reply to this:
"Thank you, Sir! Happy I could do my bit." Passing on a message from Arjun. I'm sure he & our nation's youth are ready for a bold new India. https://t.co/w587j2YRnX
