Nirmala Sitharaman visits troops at the border

On the first anniversary of the surgical strikes, defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited the sensitive Line of Control (LoC) and commended the troops for excellent operational successes.

In her first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since assuming charge, Sitharaman went to the forward areas along the LoC in North Kashmir and interacted with the troops and field commanders at Badami Bagh Cantonment for over an hour. "The defence minister was briefed about the robust counter infiltration posture along the LoC," said Colonel Rajesh Kalia, defence spokesman at Srinagar.
