Union minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Dinsha Patel today said that Narendra Modi government in Gujarat has not properly utilised financial assistance offered by the Central government.

The Centre has allotted Rs 37 crore to Gujarat under "Prime minister Rojgar Sujan Yojna" of which Gujarat government has spent only Rs 5 crore, Patel said  while inaugurating a commercial centre of the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) here today.

The minister informed that his ministry has sent letters to all the state governments wanting to know the quantum of financial aid they have used from the centre adding that the financial assistance is meant to generate more employment in the country.

The NSIC has 121 centres across the country and Rajkot became fourth centre in Gujarat besides Ahmedabad, Surat and Nadiad, Patel said adding the centre will help local small units to impart training to the unemployed people. But the minister pointed out that support from state government is important in this endeavour.
