Shocking! 28-year-old man connects mobile phone to power bank, dies after explosion

A shocking case has come to light from Madhya Pradesh's Umaria district. A 28-year-old man died after a power bank-like device he found on a road exploded when he connected his mobile phone to it for charging, police said on Saturday.

According to the police, the incident took place on Friday. However, it is not yet proved whether the device that caused the blast was a power bank or any other electronic device.

Sub Divisional Officer of Police Bharti Jat said that the victim Ram Sahil Pal found the device lying on a road while he was going to his farm on Friday. The incident took place in Manpur police station area of Umaria.

She further said that when Ram went to his neighbor's house and plugged his mobile into the device, there was a loud explosion. According to the statements of villagers, due to being badly injured, the young man died on the spot.

The police officer said that the device recovered from the spot was sent to the Forensic Science Lab for examination to determine whether it was a power bank or some other electronic device.

An investigation conducted so far has revealed that it was not an explosive. A case has been registered in connection with the death of the youth.
