A man attempted to escape with around 50 grams of gold in Indore on Thursday evening after throwing chilli powder in the eyes of a jewellery shop owner.
However, his plan was foiled as the locals gathered outside the shop, and nabbed him.

"When the accused was trying to escape, ppl who were present around the shop nabbed him. We have CCTV footage of the incident" the police said.
The police revealed that the accused came to the shop at around 6:30 pm, and thereafter threw chili powder in the shopowner's eyes, and started fleeing the shop with 50-gram gold.
"In CCTV footage, it is clear that he was trying to snatch the gold. We are taking action against him based shop owner`s complaint and the CCTV footage,"Amrita Singh Solanki, Sarafa police station in-charge told ANI.
