The body of the terrorist that was recovered earlier today after an encounter between terrorists and security forces in North Kashmir has been identified as Luqmaan, a Pakistani national affiliated with the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

Sources in the police said that Luqmaan had been active in North Kashmir for one year.

The operation that was launched jointly by the Indian army and the J&K police in the Bujthalan area of Boniyar in the Baramulla district has now concluded.

This comes after the body of a terrorist was recovered by security forces after an encounter took place on June 11 in Bomai area of Sopore in Baramulla district.

The encounter broke out between terrorists and the troops of 177, 179 and 92 Battalion of CRPF, SOG Sopore, 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR).

The JeM has been linked with, among other cases, the recent attacks on 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Kashmir's Pulwama district earlier this year.
