Jharkhand BJP appeal to allies to vote for Sangma

The Jharkhand unit of the BJP on Thursday appealed to all its ruling allies in the Arjun Munda-led state government to support former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma in the presidential elections.

"We appeal to all our constituents JMM, Ajsu party and Janata Dal (U) to vote for NDA candidate," BJP's state unit spokesman Pradip Sinha said here.

Sinha's appeal comes in the wake of UPA candidate Pranab Mukherjee calling up Ajsu party chief and Deputy Chief Minister Sudesh Mahto yesterday to seek support for him in the presidential elections.

Earlier in the day, BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said her party would support P A Sangma for presidential poll.
