Gurugram Unlock 2 guidelines issued for RWAs; maids, house-helps allowed with restrictions

Under new provisions of the 'Unlock 2' phase of re-opening activities, the Gurugram Municipal Corporation has issued fresh guidelines for Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), to be followed from July 1 till July 31. Under the new guidelines, the entry of maids and house-helps in the RWAs has been allowed, albeit with restrictions, including mandatory use of face-mask, thermal scanning, and hand sanitization at the gate.

The Gurugram Municipal Corporation further informed that if the area of residence of the maid or the house-help has been declared as a 'containment zone' or a 'large outbreak region' then their entry will not be permitted by the RWA.

Some of the other important points mentioned in the guideline include identification of vulnerable sections, like pregnant women, senior citizens, persons with co-morbidities, and children up to the age of 10. These sections will be provided additional support in availing essential goods and services.

Instructions related to night curfew have ben placed between 10 PM and 5 AM, except for medical emergencies and essential services to be followed by the RWAs.

The instructions also specify that the RWAs will have to maintain the confidentiality of details of COVID-19 positive cases in their jurisdiction and will not violate the privacy of such cases. "The details will not be shared publicly except to those who hive this duly signed undertaking and medical caregivers (with the prior consent of COVID-19 positive person). Any breach of confidentiality and privacy of positive cases will be considered as a violation of this undertaking," the instructions read.

Haryana's coronavirus count has crossed the 14,500-mark as more than 330 COVID-19 cases were reported over the past 24 hours.

With 5,347 COVID-19 cases and 91 fatalities, Gurugram is the worst-affected district in the state, followed by Faridabad and Sonipat.
