'Don't you realize my power': BJP MLA Udaybhan Chaudhary threatens Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM)

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA was on Monday caught on camera threatening a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Agra.

A video of BJP MLA Udaybhan Chaudhary threatening SDM Garima Singh has gone viral, drawing a sharp reaction on social media.

"Don't you know I am an MLA? Don't you realize my power, the power of democracy?," said the MLA

The Fatehpur-Sikri MLA reportedly made the remark while he had gone to meet the SDM over Agra's Achhnera farmers issues.

The MLAs supporters can also be heard raising slogans against the SDM.

However, Chaudhary has defended his comment and said that he doesn't need to apologise as he had said nothing wrong. He also accused the SDM of not listening to the people.

The SDM has said that the allegation levelled by the MLA is baseless.

A few months ago, farmers are Achhnera had visited the district magistrate's office, requesting that the administration mediates with the banks on their behalf as the loans that the banks were demanding repayment for.

Reacting to Chaudhary's comment, a Twitter user said that, "Sure people will show the power of democracy in the next election to this "powerful" Chaudhary."

Another user said, "This BJP MLA himself doesn’t know the power of democracy. Leaders like him make sure that BJP gets defeated in elections.
