A sub-divisional magistrate in a report highlighting the rape of a five-year-old girl from Tagore Public School in New Delhi, has highlighted six major lapses in the school.

As per ANI, the report said that entire building was not under CCTV surveillance. Furthermore, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation has not taken action against school for undertaking classes in unrecognized areas of the school building.

Regarding the accused, the report stated that he was working for almost 2.5 years without any police verification.

A five-year-old girl was raped by a peon inside a classroom of the school in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar area on September 10.

The accused, identified as Vikas (40), has been arrested, said Nupur Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahdara.

Vikas had previously he worked as a security guard in the school.

The girl, a student of class one reached home in the afternoon. While her mother was changing her clothes she noticed that she was bleeding. She was rushed to a local hospital and now has been shifted to RML hospital. Her condition at the time was critical.

The police have registered a case against under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) and are investigating the matter.
