A police inspector in the Jalore district in Rajasthan was suspended after an audio clip emerged in which he was allegedly forcing a married woman to meet him alone at his residence.

The telephonic talks between the Station House Officer (SHO) Sabir Mohammad of Jaswantpura police station and the woman surfaced on social media two days ago.

The SHO called her while she was in the market buying vegetables. In the audio clip, the SHO was allegedly bragging about his status as a police inspector. Moreover, she asked her if the sand for the construction of an under-construction house had reached her.

When the woman in the audio clip asked him why he would send to sand to her place, he insinuated that nobody can stop him from doing so.

Then veering the conversation into a completely different directed, he started pestering her to come to his residence as he was all alone at home. He was heard in the tape telling the woman that she 'made him crazy', and wanted her to visit her residence for five minutes.

However, the woman refused, telling him that she was in the market with her children to buy vegetables.

Reportedly, the SHO also asked the woman if her husband knew about him calling her.

The Jalore Superintendent of Police Shyam Singh told the news agency that a departmental probe has been initiated against him based on the audiotape.
