Twelve persons were seriously injured when a bus, on way to church, overturned and fell into a gorge in Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya today.
The bus was going from Nartiang with 27 parishioners to attend the presbyterian church synod at Madur Demthring when it rammed into a pick-up van, turned turtle and fell into a gorge at Moodymnai, police said.
Twelve of the passengers were rescued and admitted to Jowai Civil Hospital with critical injuries, while the others were released after being administered first-aid.
