Model and social media influencer Joselyn Cano also dubbed as the "Mexican Kim Kardashian" has reportedly died at the age of 29 following a botched medical procedure, Sun-Sentinel reported. Cano was also a swimwear designer and had more than 13 million followers on her Instagram account. The model reportedly died after a botched butt-lift surgery in Colombia.
Her family is yet to confirm the news of her death, however, fans claim her funeral is currently available on YouTube, uploaded on Wednesday by Akes Family Funeral Home in Riverside, California, about an hour from Newport Beach, where Cano was based, New York Post reported.
The caption to the funeral footage reads, "Joselyn entered this life on Wednesday, March 14, 1990. She entered into Eternal Life on Monday, December 07, 2020."
The news of her tragic death was first shared on Tuesday by fellow model Lira Mercer on Twitter. "Omg Joselyn Cano died in Colombia getting surgery, that's wild," Mercer wrote. "She looked so good already wow prayers for her family she was so sweet," she added in a follow-up tweet.
Fellow model Jenna Lane also paid tribute and wrote, "Rest In Peace To A Dear Friend Joselyn Cano. I’m still so shocked about the news. I didn’t want it to be true. Still in shock..."
The swimwear designer who was dubbed the "Mexican Kim Kardashian" had travelled to Columbia for a Brazilian butt lift. Her LinkedIn profile also states she had studied microbiology at San Diego State University before becoming a successful social media influencer and model.
For the uninformed, Brazilian butt lifts involve "grafting fat from one area of the body to the buttocks".
