‘Beast’ will be the 65th film of Vijay's career and will star Pooja Hegde as the female lead.
On Monday (June 21), Sun Pictures announced that Tamil Superstar Vijay’s Thalapathy 65 has been titled ‘Beast’. The makers also unveiled the first look of the movie on the eve of the Vijay’s birthday. The actor will be celebrating his 47th birthday on June 22.
In the poster, handsome hunk Vijay dons a white vest and pants. With an intense expression on his face, the actor is holding a gun in his hand as smoke billowed in the background.
Thalapathy’s fans took to the comments sections and expressed their excitement over the news. They also wished Vijay for his birthday. “If character is a subject then Vijay is topper of the all mates.......... #HappyBirthdayThalapathy,” wrote one user, while another wrote, “ALL TIME BEST FIRST LOOK OF OUR TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #HBDTHALAPATHYVijay #Master @actorvijay #BEAST.”
‘Beast’ will be the 65th film of Talapathy’s career. Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar the film stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead. Pooja is making a comeback to Tamil cinema after a gap of nine years. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The film went on floors in March this year and in April, Nelson and Vijay left for Georgia, where the shooting began. After the first schedule ended, filming came to halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Shooting will begin for the second schedule after lockdown restrictions are eased by the government.
The film also features Malayalam actress Aparna Das, Shine Tom Chacko and Yogi Babu in key roles. The actress will be making her debut in Tamil with ‘Beast’.
Vijay was last seen alongside Vijay Sethupathi in ‘Master’ which was a huge hit with the audience. He will next be seen in Vamshi Paidipally’s Tamil-Telegu bilingual film.
