Ssumier Pasricha, who catapulted to fame with his funny videos on Pammi Aunty, that had him impersonating a middle-class Punjabi aunty who loves to gossip, will be honoured with the Bharat Shiromani Award on April 14. In the past, the award has been bestowed upon the likes of Mother Teresa, Kiran Bedi, Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar among others.
The awards are given to people for their outstanding achievements in their area of expertise.
Commenting on the same, Ssumier Pasricha says, "I am happy that the Bharat Shiromani Award jury has opened doors to honour the digital world. It's always good to receive an award, but this will always be special. Firstly, because of the name Bharat, and secondly because it's been bestowed on legends like Mother Teresa and Asha Bhosleji."
He further added, "I am thankful to the jury who found me worth the honour. I accept the award humbly with folded hands."
The actor will be flying to Delhi on Friday for the same.
