Film France, the national film commission of France, in collaboration with embassy of France in India and consulate general of France in Pondicherry, will meet producers from southern states on the April 6 and 7 in Chennai to give them information on opportunities for filming in France.

Franck Priot, deputy director of Film France, said more than 300 foreign film makers visit France to make feature films, TV serials, documentaries.

Special rebate amounting to 20% of the costs would be allowed for any production unit spending at least one million Euros in France, he said in a release issued in Puducherry.

Diversified landscapes, beauty of locations and picturesque and spectacular landmarks of France offer the Indian film industry a vast choice of unparalleled locales, he said.

"Our aim is to consolidate and thus sustain the interest of producers of feature films in Chennai and South India for our country while a new treaty on coproduction of films has been signed recently between India and France", he said.
