West Bengal Board Exam 2021: Expert committee to take decision on class 10, 12 exams

After CBSE, many states have cancelled their board examinations due to the COVID-19 situation in India. However, in West Bengal, the decision on Class 10 and Class 12 examinations have not been decided yet. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee announced on Saturday (June 6) that the state government will form an expert committee for West Bengal Board Exams 2021. The committee will recommend whether state board exams for secondary and higher secondary classes should be conducted or not.  

 

The government is also inviting suggestions for West Bengal Board class 10 and class 12 exams from students and parents.

 

CM Mamta Banerjee said through the series of tweets, “Our children's future is my greatest priority. To this regard, we have formed an expert committee to decide over holding the Class 10th & 12th board exams in 2021.”

 

 

“The government of West Bengal has formed an expert committee to review the situation and recommend whether to conduct/not to conduct Secondary/Higher Secondary exams. If yes, the mode of the conduction of exams. If not, the mode of evaluation criteria for the assessment. While the expert committee is considering and discussing the matter, the government of West Bengal invites views/opinion from the general public, guardians/parents, students by 2 pm tomorrow i.e. June 7. The opinions may be sent on pbssm.spo@gmail.com, commissionerschooleducation@gmail.com or wbssed@gmail.com,” the official notice reads.

 

The public can mail their opinion to the government at pbssm.spo@gmail.com, commissionersschooleducation@gmail.com and/or wbssed@gmail.com.

 

Earlier, the committee was asked by the government to submit its report within 72 hours for a decision. The state government will evaluate the report submitted by the expert committee and then on the basis of that, the final decision will be taken.
