The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has cancelled the UP Class 12 board exams 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, deputy CM Dinesh Sharma announced on Thursday (June 3). The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

 

In an official statement, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said that the council's decision to cancel class 10 examinations would benefit over 29.94 lakh students, allowing their promotion to the next class.

 

He further stated that all the students of class 10 will be promoted to class 11 without giving any exam.

 

According to NDTV, Uttar Pradesh is seeking suggestions from the District School Inspector for the evaluation of Class 10 and Class 12 result.

 

A virtual meeting is scheduled under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Secondary Education Uttar Pradesh on Monday (June 7) to discuss the evaluation criteria to mark the students of Class 10 and class 12.

 

The School Inspectors of each district of Uttar Pradesh will send their suggestions regarding the evaluation criteria for Class 10 and class 12 result 2021. The suggestion will be prepared by taking the advice of the parents, principals of each government school and government-aided schools and other stakeholders.

 

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad had decided to conduct the UP Class 12 Board Exam 2021 in the second week of July if the situation was conducive.

 

The central government on Tuesday decided that Class 12 board exams of CBSE would not be held this year in view of the uncertain conditions due to COVID-19 and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders.
