Ending all speculations, Karnataka State Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar on Friday (June 4) announced that Karnataka SSLC 10th Examination 2021 would not be cancelled. The minister, however, added that the exam pattern would be changed due to COVID-19 outbreak and it is likely that students would have to appear for only two papers. The minister said that Karnataka SSLC Exam 2021 exam is likely to be held in the third week of July. 

Minister Kumar made the big announcement amid growing demands to cancel Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exams 2021, especially after CBSE, CICSE and several other state boards decided to cancel Class 10 and Class 12 exams due to rising coronavirus case. Earlier, the Karnataka SSLC Exam 2021 was scheduled to begin from June 21 but it was postponed by the state government due to spike in COVID-19 cases.

Karnataka SSLC Exam 2021: Students likely to be asked to appear for 2 papers

According to reports, Karnataka government is mulling to hold exams for a language subject and the second paper would be a multiple-choice examination on Maths, Science and Social Studies. It is expected that the objective paper would be of 120 marks and have 40 questions each.

PUC Exams cancelled

Minister Kumar also announced that the Karnataka government has decided to cancel Karnataka 2nd PUC Examinations. He added that the evaluation criteria in few days.
