The Fee Regulatory Committee for professional courses has received a complaint from students of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University against overcharging of fee.

According to the complaint, even though the fee fixed for students of School of Technology at PDPU is Rs75,000 per year, they are being charged Rs1.20 lakh per head.

This means that the university authorities are charging around Rs45,000 more than the fixed fee.

"We received a complaint a week ago. The matter will be taken up in the next committee meeting," said a senior official.

Five members of the committee will probe the matter and decide on rollback of the decision.

The official said that in past they had received a complaint of overcharging of fees from students of Nirma University.
