The University of Delhi will provide a full fee waiver to students who have lost their parents to COVID-19. According to the senior DU officials, The University asked all its colleges to conduct a survey for this and prepare a list of students who have lost one or both parents to the COVID-19.

 

"The Delhi University has written to its colleges to conduct a survey of students who have lost their parents due to coronavirus. We have sought a report in the matter by Monday," Dean of Colleges, Balaram Pani, told PTI.

 

According to officials, there are three types of colleges under Delhi University -- Colleges maintained by trusts; many colleges are maintained by the university, and some colleges are fully or partially funded by the Delhi government.

There are 28 colleges fully or partially funded by the Delhi government, including 12 that are fully funded by the city dispensation.

 

DU Vice-Chancellor PC Joshi has also emphasized the issue of fee waiver. In a prayer meeting organized for the university employees who died from COVID-19, Joshi said that the students who lost their parents in the COVID-19 epidemic are a matter of major concern for the administration.

 

Delhi University admission 2021

The University of Delhi (DU) is likely to begin the registration process for admission 2021 by July 15, said Acting Vice-Chancellor PC Joshi on Thursday (June 3). Due to the COVID-19 crisis, DU Admission 2021 registration and other processes will be online. The admission process will begin after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and state boards will declare the result of Class 12.

 

According to Rajeev Gupta, Chairman DU Admission, there are 70000 seats for UG courses in 60 colleges affiliated to DU.
