CBSE Board Exams 2021: Students await CBSE exam dates 2021 after Maha, Gujarat postpone State Board exams

With the State Boards such as Maharashtra and Gujarat postponing the Class 10 and 12 Board exams 2021 to May, many are now expecting the Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE to make a similar announcement.

CBSE Board Exams 2021: With the State Boards such as Maharashtra and Gujarat postponing the Class 10 and 12 Board exams 2021 to May, many are now expecting the Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE to make a similar announcement. The CBSE, under a normal academic calendar, conducts the CBSE Class 10, 12 board examinations in the months of February and March. However, the two national boards - CBSE and CISCE - earlier last month had shared that they are contemplating a decision to either postpone the exams or cut syllabus - or choose a combination thereof.

State Board Exams 2021 postponed

Maharashtra State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad recently confirmed that it is not possible to conduct Maharashtra Class 10 and 12 Board exams before May 2021.

The Gujarat State Government also announced that the GSEB Class 10th and 12th Board exams 2021 will be conducted in May next year.

The Andhra Pradesh State Government has also hinted at a delay in the conducting of Board Intermediate Exams in April instead of February.

Will CBSE Board Exams 2021 be postponed?

With many states announcing the delay in the academic calendar of the board exams to May 2021, all eyes are now set on CBSE and its decision. The announcement of CBSE 2021 Board exam dates are highly anticipated by students and other stakeholders across the country.

The CBSE along with CISCE had shared that the two national boards are contemplating whether to postpone Class 10 and 12 Board exams 2021 or reduce syllabus or employ a combination of both. The CBSE usually announces the date sheet for the Class 10 and 12 Board exams in the month of December.

There is no update on CBSE 2021 date sheet as of now and the a1nnouncement is likely to come from the Ministry of Education in regards to the academic calendar 2020-21.

Experts predict delay

Many experts and school heads have maintained that delaying the board examination may be a necessity and an eventuality that cannot be denied, reported Times Now.

Teachers also maintained that a minimum of three months of physical classes is necessary in order for students to be ready for Class 10 and 12 Board exams.

Many experts pointed out that CBSE may not be able to make a decision on dates for the board exams 2021 till at least 60% of the schools in the country are reopened.
