Following the footsteps of CBSE, many states have cancelled their respective Class 12 board exams so far amid the COVID-19 situation in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the cancellation of CBSE and CISCE class 12 board Exam 2021 in view of the uncertain conditions due to COVID-19 and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders.

 

As soon as the announcement was made for the cancellation of CBSE and CISCE class 12 exams, some of the states took the decision in less than 24 hours from the Centre's decision to cancel Class 12 board exams. However, the other states are taking time to analyse the options and expected to take their final decision soon. The states who have cancelled Class 12 exams are Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and Karnataka.

 

Meanwhile, Kerala and Bihar have already conducted Class 12 state board exams.

Tamil Nadu Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin cancelled the Class 12 state board exams 2021 based on the advice of domain experts and the medical committee amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, on Saturday (June 5).

 

Himachal Pradesh Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday (June 5) announced to cancel class 12 exams 2021. The government has also extended the lockdown till June 14. The decision comes after Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur chaired a meeting with his Cabinet. The cabinet decided to cancel the class 12 exams in line with the decision of the central government.

 

Uttar Pradesh Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has cancelled the UP Class 12 board exams 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, deputy CM Dinesh Sharma announced on Thursday (June 3). The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

 

Maharashtra Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

Maharashtra HSC Class 12 Board Exam 2021 have been cancelled. The Maharashtra government had sent a proposal in this regard to the State Disaster Management Authority yesterday only, which has been approved.   

 

Odisha Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

The council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has cancelled Odisha CHSE Board Class 12 exam 2021. The reason to cancel the exam was due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation in India. The information was confirmed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. He said, "Students' lives more important than any exam." 

 

Haryana Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

Haryana Board of School Education has also cancelled the class 12 exam. However, students will have the option of appearing for the examination once the situation of COVID-19 becomes normal. Haryana Education Minister Kanwarpal Gurjar gave this information late on Tuesday evening after the CBSE board's 12th examination was cancelled.

 

Gujarat Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

Gujarat government on Wednesday decided to cancel board exams for Class 12 students of Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB).

 

Madhya Pradesh Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

Madhya Pradesh government announced on Wednesday has decided to cancel the class 12 board exam 2021. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made the announcement for MP Board Class 12 exam 2021.

 

Goa Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has cancelled Goa Class 12 Board Exam 2021. The Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant on Wednesday announced the cancellation of GBSHSE HSC exams. 
 

Rajasthan Class 12 Board Exam 2021:

Rajasthan government on Wednesday cancelled the Class 10 and 12 board exams. According to the official statement, the decision was taken during a meeting of the State Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
