Less than a month after DNA reported the rising fear of contract killers in the national Capital, the police in Shahadra have arrested a shooter wanted for more than 45 incidents of shooting and robberies. The police claimed to have solved over thirteen cases of robbery and snatching on his arrest.

According to the police, on Saturday information was received that the accused would be coming near the Cross River Mall in Anand Vihar. A police team was deployed and a man on a scooty was seen approaching towards their side. The man, on being intercepted, did not stop initially but the police officers forced him to stop. On being asked about the registration papers of the scooty that he was riding, he claimed he did not have any documents. When asked about other necessary details, he did not give satisfactory answers.

"We checked the vehicle number and it was revealed that the scooty was stolen from Anand Vihar area. The man was later identified as a bad character of Jafrabad area, Najbool alias Jaigum. On his personal search, a country-made pistol and two live cartridges were also recovered," said Nupur Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahdara.

Najbool is a resident of Jafrabad area who was also fascinated and inspired by the Bollywood industry. He always aspired to live a lavish and luxurious life. Najbool, in order to earn quick money, started to commit snatching and robbery and later acquired a country-made pistol to use it during any scuffle. He is involved in 49 previous cases of robbery and snatching.

To keep a check on street crime in the area of District Shahdara of Delhi, the crime pattern and criminal gangs operating in the area were analysed and sources were developed to nab active criminals in the jurisdiction. Several teams of police were deployed to develop sources to nab the active criminals.
