A four-year-old pug was kidnapped outside the owner's house in Delhi's Rohini sector 5 on September 19, according to a Hindustan Times report.
The incident was captured on three CCTV cameras, however, the police are yet to identify the man in action and trace the whereabouts of the dog.
"A probe has been launched," Rishipal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the Rohini area said. A case of robbery and kidnapping has been registered at the Vijay Vihar police station after the family filed complaint.
The family, in an effort to find their lost dog, had printed around 400 posters announcing a reward of Rs 5000.
The pug, Candy, went missing after the painters, who had come to Jigyasha's house, accidently left their residence's door open.
“They accidentally left the main door open and Candy (the Pug) went out. Usually Candy would play in the park outside our house but that day, she stepped on the road and was taken,” Jigyasha was quoted as saying in the report.
Candy, whose birthday was due next week, had lived with Jigyashay for four years and was treated as a member of the family.
