    In its 132nd meeting, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) approved setting up of 93 decentralised Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), and Rs 10 lakh compensation to kin of victims of sewer deaths since 1993,

    It also  the restriction of 10 connections per building to ensure that every flat gets access to a legal water connection. Until Friday,  buildings that had more than 10 flats were given a bulk water connection. The meeting was held at the Delhi Secretariat on Friday under chairmanship of the CM Arvind Kejriwal.

    To the relief of employees of DJB, the payment of remaining conditions of the 7th pay commission was approved in the meeting. It also approved Rs 10.49 crore for setting up of hydro power projects with an output of 397 kW power every year.

    The Board approved the water audit through flow-meter that will be installed at various points from water treatment plant to the consumer end to measure and check leakages, unauthorised  tappings. Rs 222 crore has been sanctioned for the same.

    It also approved 348 mohalla clinics at Delhi Jal Board locations. It approved installation of new water and sewer lines in Madhu Vihar, Shiv Enclave and several areas for the benefit of residents.
    New sewer line in Kamruddin Nagar at the cost of Rs. 77 crore and length of 94 kms has also been approved.
