A woman has registered a complaint with the police against a man who allegedly raped her on the pretext of offering a job and threatened to defame her if she disclosed any of it to her family or the police. The accused has been arrested the police said.

The woman, her late 20s, has claimed that she was raped over a period of one year in different hotels and multiple videos of the sexual assault were made by the accused who allegedly kept forcing her to establish sexual relations with him, the police said. The case has been registered at Vasant Kunj (North).

The accused, identified as Randhir Singh, had intercepted the woman at a Metro station and was forcing her to go to a hotel with him when some CISF personnel at the station noticed that she was stressed. When they attended to the woman, she told them about the sexual assault. "The accused kept claiming that he was her husband," said a police officer.

The woman has told the police that she met the accused who claimed to be a supervisor working at the Delhi airport and offered her a permanent job. Singh then lured the woman to a hotel where he claimed to set up a meeting with senior officers. "Nobody had come and the accused pretended to make the phone calls to set up the meeting. The woman was then given cold drinks laced with sedatives following which Singh allegedly raped her and shot videos and photographs of the incident," the officer said.
