Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will convene another meeting on Tuesday to track the work done on the upcoming mega plantation drive scheduled for September 1 in the national Capital. A note has been sent to 26 officers in the government and asked to personally attend the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.

According to the sources, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) officials did not attend the meeting on Saturday and now have been specially mentioned by the Chief Minister to be physically present in the discussion. The list of 26 officials includes DDA vice-chairman, CEO of Delhi Jal Board, commissioners of all three MCDs, CEO of Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), among others.

"All the officials have been told to come with a detailed plan on Van Mahotsava programme. They should carry an advertisement and publicity plan for the campaign and the survival percentage of the plantation of the past five years," said a senior Delhi government official.

The Delhi government will carry out a massive drive to plant five lakh trees and shrubs on September 1, the city's environment minister Imran Hussain had earlier said. Under the plantation drive, a total of 32.27 lakh saplings are likely to be planted, officials said. The Chief Minister also sought to create a helpline for the event so people can find out about the nearest location for participating in the drive.

The officials will also submit a plan on how the school children and residents will reach the site. "We have prepared a proper transportation plan for ferrying the children and the residents. It will be submitted on Tuesday," said an official.

Kejriwal, in the previous meeting held on Saturday, had directed officials to geo-tag plants and monitor their survival rate under the government's mega plantation drive. He also directed that a helpline be created for the event and publicised for people to call and check the nearest location for participation. He also directed that various club also be involved in the drive to make participation better.
