A 28-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two men in Dadri by-pass area of Greater Noida on Thursday night. The woman alleged that on Thursday night when she visited the police station, the cops did not register her complaint. It was only on Friday after the orders from the magistrate that a complaint was filed by the police.
The complainant, a resident of Bulandshahr, stated that she had come to Greater Noida on Thursday for some work and got late while returning home.
"In her complaint, the woman alleged that she was waiting for a bus at the Dadri bus stand when the two accused, Praveen and Arun came on a bike and offered her a lift. Later, they took her to a deserted area near Dadri bypass," said a senior police officer.
She further alleged that two more people joined them, who thrashed her while Pravin and Arun raped her. After taking turns to rape the victim, the accused fled the spot after committing the crime. The woman said she visited Dadri police station on Thursday night but police did not take any action.
The woman, on Friday morning, visited Surajpur court and after that on the direction of the district court, a complaint was registered.
Police said that based on the allegations made by the victim, an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal code has been registered.
"The woman has been sent for medical examination and reports are awaited. We are exploring all the angles in this case," said Nishank Sharma, Circle Officer (Dadri).
Police said the woman she lives with her four children in Bulandshahr district. Her husband had expired a few years ago. One of the accused Pravin was known to her and after her husband's death, Pravin tried to forcefully marry her in order to take away her property.
