India were effectively 40/4 after they lost the big wickets of skipper Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara in overs number 6 and 8 of the morning on the final day of the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand. Kyle Jamieson was the wrecker-in-chief for New Zealand again as he accounted for both of the batsmen, who resumed India's innings on the reserve day of the ultimate Test in Southampton.

India resumed their second innings on their overnight score of 64/2. With the sun shining and temperatures a little warm, the conditions were beautiful for batting, with a couple of deliveries here and there from both Tim Southee and Jamieson moving.

However, it didn't matter one bit for Jamieson, who continued his outstanding run in the whites for New Zealand and coming off from a fifer in the first innings of this game. Jamieson, somehow, was able to induce false shots not once but twice in space of two overs from the Indian batsmen.

First, it was Kohli, whom he got even in the first innings as well. Kohli hanged his bat out on a shorter delivery outside the off-stump, which took the edge of his bat straight into the hands of the wicket-keeper BJ Watling and India were effectively 39/3.

If that wasn't enough, Jamieson had more misery written for India as he scalped out the No 3 batsman Pujara as well, in his next over. Pujara was always tentative and cautious for the ball coming in, so he just guarded his bat and the wobbly seam from Jamieson took his outside edge straight into the hands of Ross Tayloe, who was standing in the first slip.
