India's hopes of spending their time and getting through to the tea unscathed received a major jolt as the New Zealand pace attack just came out all guns blazing in the second session on the reserve day of the World Test Championship (WTC) final as they bowled them out for just 170 runs.

Now, New Zealand need just 139 runs to win the inaugural WTC final. It all started with a fiery Neil Wagner spell from around the wicket to the left-handed duo of Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. Both the batsmen were very watchful and patient and weren't taking any risks.

However, Wagner was just fired up and wanted to bounce them out as he does in the latter parts of a Test match, usually. While Pant, successfully negotiated him, Wagner's hard work finally bore fruit against the now No 1 Test all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

After setting up Jadeja with 12 bouncers, Wagner followed it up with a slightly fuller bowled angled outside off and it induced an edge and India lost their sixth wicket. After which, it didn't take much longer for New Zealand to get the rest of the four wickets.

Ravichandran Ashwin resisted for a while and Rishabh Pant was his measured self, but his patience gave up when he tried to pull a Trent Boult delivery but mistimed it and hit in the third man region where Henry Nicholls from gully ran to catch and give New Zealand the most important wicket of the session.

Boult removed Ashwin in the same over. Mohammed Shami came out and had some fun hitting a couple of boundaries before Tim Southee finished the formalities dismissing both Shami and Jasprit Bumrah to help New Zealand bowl out India for 170.
