An Indian cricket fan was rejoicing and fist-bumping in the stands at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton where the World Test Championship (WTC) final is taking place when the camera panned on him. However, the smiles and the enthusiasm soon faded away as he laid eyes on what took place in the middle.

Team India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane nicked a leg-stump line delivery from the Kiwi pacer Trent Boult straight into the hands of wicket-keeper BJ Watling. The moment he saw what just happened all the smiles went off and the person and people alongside him were in shock and despair.

India lost a total of three wickets in the first session of the reserve day, which made the contest extremely exciting going into the remaining two sessions of the day. India were 130/5, effectively 98/5 at the lunch of the resever day, losing wickets of skipper Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.
