Day 3 - which was actually Day 2 - of the World Test Championship (WTC) final belonged to New Zealand as they bowled out India for just 217. The Kiwis scored 101 runs for the loss of just two wickets and now need just 116 runs to equal the total score.

Team India had to work hard to get their first wicket as Kiwi openers Devon Conway and Tom Latham managed to negotiate long spells from all three pacers.

It took 34 overs for the Indian side to get their first breakthrough and it came from off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Ishant Sharma sent the run-machine Devon Conway back in the last over before the stumps bring some relief back in the Indian camp.

However, this contest is far from the conclusion, and hence, both sides must buckle up.

How will the weather be on Day 4 in Southampton?

One thing that has been constant in the final clash is the weather. It has been frustrating as persistent rain didn't even allow the toss to take place on Day 1.

The significant part of the second day was also seen getting washed out. The non-cricket friendly climate had even delayed the start on Day 3.

Unfortunately, dark clouds will be looming over the fourth day as well. According to accuweather.com, Southampton will experience rain during the fourth day's morning session, and this could lead to another delay.

The weather won't get any better either and dark clouds will dominate the sky the entire day.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has arranged a reserve day to make up for the lost time and with rain washing away a significant part of the game, the extra day will come into the equation.
