South Africa are slowly and gradually coming back into their groove as they beat the strong West Indies side for the second time in three days in the ongoing five-match series and took a 2-1 lead. However, it wasn't easy as the match was in the balance for 39 overs before the visitors kept their nerves to get over the line in the final over by just a solitary run.

Like the previous two matches, Windies skipper Kieron Pollard chose to bowl first and South Africa got off to a flier owing to their openers Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks. The latter couldn't continue for long as left-arm pacer Obed McCoy dismissed him for 17, but the left-handed wicket-keeper batsman continued his purple patch from the IPL to the Test series and now to the T20 matches for his country.

Skipper Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram got out cheaply and de Kock found an able ally in the run-machine Rassie van der Dussen. De Kock brought up his half-century and van der Dussen continued his form with two fours and a six. The 60-run partnership was broken in the 18th over as the veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo sent de Kock back and Proteas' innings collapsed after that as they could score only 20 runs in the remaining overs.

Windies got off to a fantastic start by Evin Lewis and Lendl Simmons, but once the 55-run stand was broken by the left-arm spinner George Linde, the innings couldn't gain any momentum as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Pacer Anrich Nortje, spinner Tabraiz Shamsi and Kagiso Rabada were the pick of the bowlers for the visitors.

Hard-hitting all-rounder Andre Russell and Fabian Allen kept the hosts in the game and almost took their side to victory, however, Rabada kept his nerves to defend 15 runs in the final over to help his side get over the line and gain a lead in the five-match series.
