Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer scored a stunning 55-ball 147 against Sikkim in their Group C match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Indore. The 24-year-old who has broken Rishabh Pant’s record of the highest T20 score by an Indian batsman hit 15 sixes and 7 boundaries during his record-breaking knock.

Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer scored a stunning 55-ball 147 against Sikkim in their Group C match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Indore. The 24-year-old who has broken Rishabh Pant’s record of the highest T20 score by an Indian batsman hit 15 sixes and 7 boundaries during his record-breaking knock.

Iyer came in to bat when Mumbai were reduced to 22 for 2, but along with Suryakumar Yadav, the duo stitched a 200-plus run for the 3rd wicket. Mumbai posted 258 for 4 and missed by five runs to break the current world record for the highest T20 score.

Pant had scored 128 from 63 balls when playing for Delhi Daredevils against Sunrisers Hyderabad during last season’s IPL. The 15 sixes hit by Iyer also saw him grab the record for most sixes in a T20 innings previously held by Murali Vijay (11).

This was also the fourth fastest T20 ton by an Indian. Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma and Yusuf Pathan are ahead of Iyer.
