Former Pakistan seamer Aaqib Javed has made a significant claim regarding Virat Kohli, delving into the realm of consistency by drawing a comparison with Babar Azam. Javed asserts that Kohli's consistency pales in comparison to Babar's, suggesting that the former's peak performance is fleeting and sporadic.

Babar and Kohli have emerged as two of the most accomplished all-format batsmen in the current era, often drawing comparisons. While Kohli has solidified his status as a modern great with his impressive statistics, Babar is rapidly climbing the ladder by consistently surpassing the records set by his Indian counterparts.

In a conversation with the local media, Javed expressed his belief that Kohli's consistency is sporadic, unlike Babar's unwavering performance. He confidently supported Pakistan's chances of winning the World Cup this year.

"If you compare Kohli with Babar, Kohli has a few seasons. He'll have an outstanding one season, and then it will decline; he's a great player in patches. But he is not as consistent as Babar Azam.

"Babar, as captain, his spot is cemented, and the players want to listen to him. I think this is the best chance for Pakistan to win the World Cup," he said.

Virat Kohli experienced a prolonged period of poor performance over the past two years. However, he made a remarkable comeback during the 2022 Asia Cup, where the 34-year-old cricketer regained his form and emerged as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, just behind Mohammad Rizwan.

The former player expressed his opinion that India's transition stage is the reason why Pakistan has a better chance of winning the trophy this time.

"Many times you head into World Cup thinking this might be the last for a couple of players. This time I feel it is happening to India."When stars become larger than life, it becomes difficult for team management to make decisions. That is why, by looking and comparing all the departments, Pakistan have a very good chance this time."

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated 2023 Asia Cup is set to commence on August 30th in Multan, Pakistan, where the host nation will go head-to-head against Nepal.
