Rohit Sharma ahead of WTC Final had told broadcasters 'Star Sports', "I have played those guys and know about their strengths and weaknesses. It will all boil down to what the conditions are, what sort of situation the team is in, whether we are batting first or second".
As for Kohli, he, while talking to Star Sports, said, "We are so delighted that we are in the final, we feel we have earned our place and belong where we are. We are happy some spectators are going to watch, which is justice for something of this magnitude because a big final without spectators would have been anticlimactic. It’s not the final frontier, it’s just another feather to add to our hat that we have created as a Test team. It’s a culmination of the toil over the last 4-5 years".
As for the WTC Final, Kane Willaimson's side won the toss and opted to field at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. The 'Rain Gods' decided to pay a visit on Day 1 and soon the news of the toss being delayed was out. While fans still waited, it was later decided that Day 1 was called off due to rains.
The ICC WTC final was initially supposed to be held at Lords, but due to COVID-19 issues and bio-bubble facilities, the game shifted to Southampton. However, the weather does not look quite good.
The game does have a reserve day on June 23 but in case of a no-result, the Test Championship will be shared.
