The scandal surrounding English cricketer Ben Stokes continued to overshadow the team's performances on the field. A newspaper report has claimed that the man allegedly punched by Stokes is a former British Army soldier.

Stokes saw his troubles pile up further on Friday after a video in which he allegedly belittles the teenage handicapped son of former model Katie Price, also came out.

Price, wrote "shame him" on her official Twitter account, directly in response to a newspaper report about the video.

My son not an 'aggressive type', says alleged victim's mother

Stokes is being investigated over accusations of causing actual bodily harm following an incident outside a night club in the early hours of Monday morning in Bristol.

Stokes - who was suspended by England along with team-mate Alex Hales on Thursday, a day after video footage of the incident came out - is accused of punching Ryan Hale, also 26.

Hale is a former British Army soldier who served in Afghanistan, the Daily Telegraph said.

According to the report Hale lives with his mother, who told the newspaper that her son is not an 'aggressive type'. She also added that the former soldier "is not OK and it is not something that happens on a daily basis".

Meanwhile, England test captain Joe Root and pace bowler Stuart Broad have canceled a trip to Amsterdam to join the stag party of ODI wicketkeeper Jos Buttler.

Their decision came after former England captain and now director of cricket Andrew Strauss cautioned players over their behaviour off the pitch.

Police had appealed on Friday for two 'specific witnesses (both men)' to come forward with their information.

Hales involved in 'naked selfie' trouble

Alex Hales is expected to be questioned by police next week over allegations the Nottinghamshire opening batsman kicked a man during the fracas.

Hales, the Nottinghamshire all-rounder, also appeared to be at the centre of a concerted smear campaign, after allegedly compromising photographs began appearing online.

One of the images showed the player posing in a naked selfie, but sources close to Hales insisted it was taken over five years old ago before he played for England,

It was not known who circulated the photograph, but sources insisted that a series of other pictures also purporting to feature him or be taken by him, were hoaxes.
