AB de Villiers and his wife Danielle have become proud parents to a baby girl. On his Instagram handle, AB de Villiers shared an adorable post and named the child Yente. Sharing a photo with his wife Danielle and the little one, AB de Villiers wrote, “On 11-11-2020, we welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world. Yente de Villiers, you are the perfect addition to our family and such a blessing. We are grateful beyond measure for YOU! Genade onbeskryklik groot. Dankie Here.” This is the third addition in his family.

AB de Villiers and Danielle got married in March 2013 and in 2015, they welcomed their first child; Abraham de Villiers. In 2017, their second son John de Villiers was born.

De Villiers was in magnificent form in IPL 2020 and was one of the leading players yet again for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In 15 matches, AB de Villiers scored 454 runs at an average of 45.4 with a magnificent strike-rate of 158. Royal Challengers Bangalore made it to the Eliminator of IPL 2020 but they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in a close match as their wait for a trophy extended into the next year.

Spending time with family

AB de Villiers has opted to miss the Big Bash League in Australia where he would have featured for the Brisbane Heat in BBL 2020. Having announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket in 2018, AB de Villiers has tried to stage a comeback, and recently announced in 2020 that he wanted to make a comeback for the T20 World Cup, which has now been postponed. It will be interesting to see if the 36-year-old represents his country in the future again.

South Africa will host England for three ODIs and three T20Is in the bio-secure bubble in Cape Town beginning on November 27 and that will be followed by visits by Sri Lanka, Pakistan and potentially Australia towards March-April 2021. South Africa are not expected to tour overseas in this period as the country still grapples with the coronavirus outbreak that is the worst in Africa.
