How to use mAadhaar app as valid id proof during rail journeys

In just a time period of two months 10 lakh people have downloaded mAadhaar to get their Aadhaar cards on smartphones. 

Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad took to twitter to share the latest achievement.

mAadhaar has also been considered valid by Railways as one of the proofs of identity for rail travel recently. 

What is mAadhaar? 

A mobile app from UIDAI or Unique Identification Authority of India on which a person can download his/her Aadhaar Card. 

How to use as a valid id proof during rail journeys?

For showing Aadhaar, the user during their journeys has to open the app on their smartphones followed by entering of their respective passwords. 

Once the password would be approves, the app would show the Aaadhar Card. 

However, a user has to register his mobile number in oredr to download the Aadhaar card.  

The app needs a running internet connection for smooth downloads. 

The users can active one Aadhaar profile at a time on the app. However, if other relatives of the user have registered their Aadhaar cards under his/her number, then their profiles can be added with the main profile. 

A maximum of three profiles is allowed under the certain registered mobile number.
