Partnership creates first global on-demand economy car washing alliance
On-demand car care, technology and services company Get Spiffy has made a strategic investment in Mumbai-based car care start-up Revive Labs PL, which operates under the banner Refreshed Car Care.
The North Carolina, US-based firm did not share financial details related to this deal. Instituted in November 2016, Refreshed operates fully self-contained vans that use high-pressure steam cleaning technology for their service offerings.
Chirag Shah, founder and chief executive officer, Refreshed Car Care, said the partnership will build the first global alliance of technology-driven on-demand car care companies.
"We look forward to sharing best practices in India and learning what is working for Spiffy in the US. Together, we will build a stronger value proposition for our customers in both continents," he said.
Daily car washing in India, the company said, is the norm. "An already large installed base and new auto sales in excess of two million vehicles per year consistently put India in the top-five car markets worldwide. Additionally, with India's 355 million online users growing at 27% year on year, India's digital audience is second only to China," the company said in a statement.
According to Scot Wingo, chief executive officer, Get Spiffy Inc, India is one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets and technology-led on-demand services will be the second digital wave to sweep through the country.
"We evaluated the Indian market and it was clear that Refreshed is in a position to be the leader in this top-five digital market and we look forward to supporting them to achieve that goal," said Wingo.
Spiffy currently operates in Raleigh and Charlotte in North Carolina, Atlanta in Georgia, Los Angeles, California and Dallas, Texas.
An eco-friendly, on-demand, doorstep car cleaning and detailing company, Refreshed presently services the Mumbai market with two offerings - Refreshed Pro and Refreshed Go Express. While the former is a comprehensive cleaning service priced at Rs 2,499 per use, the latter is an express version that costs Rs 399 per use. Refreshed has also introduced a robust training and skilling programme that trains unskilled workers to be job-ready within eight days, empowering them to be a part of the formal economy.
