When Akshay Kumar moved 'Bachchan Pandey' release to make way for Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha'

The release date of Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor Khan starring film 'Laal Singh Chaddha' has been postponed. The film, which was previously slated for Christmas 2020 release, will now hit theatres in Christmas 2021, With the initial release date, Aamir had requested actor Akshay Kumar to shift the release date of his movie 'Bachchan Pandey'.

Aamir had requested Akshay Kumar to shift the release of his movie 'Bachchan Pandey' in the beginning of this year (January 2020 itself). Akshay had very graciously even accepted the same and shifted the release of his film to January 22, 2021.

Aamir, who asked Akshay to change the release date so his movie 'Laal Singh Chadha' can have a better opening at the Box Office, thanked Khiladi Kumar for his gesture by writing, "Sometimes all it takes is one conversation. Thank you to my friends @akshaykumar & Sajid Nadiadwala for their warm gesture of moving the release date of their film Bachchan Pandey at my request. I wish them the very best for their film. Looking forward to it. Love. a"

Sharing an intriguing first look from Bachchan Pandey, Akshay replied to the same by writing, "Anytime @aamir_khan, we’re all friends here. Presenting - new look, new release date. Coming on 22nd January, 2021. In and as #BachchanPandey!"

Interestingly, Aamir recently followed Akshay's footsteps. After Akshay had left for UK schedule for his upcoming film 'BellBottom' post lockdown, Aamir also resumed shooting for 'Laal Singh Chaddha' in Turkey, the images of which are now viral.
