Vivek Agnihotri’s much-awaited film The Vaccine War hit the theatres on Thursday. Though the movie saw a low start, it has been garnering positive word of mouth. Recently, the filmmaker opened up on the possibility of casting Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut together.

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, when asked if he can bring ‘rivals’ Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut together in a film, Vivek Agnihotri replied, “Main agar aise sochne lagunga toh mai mar hi jaaunga, kaun sochta hai iss tarah se. Yeh, thinking bhi kaise ho sakti hai kisi ki (I'll die if I start thinking like this. Who thinks like this? and how can someone think like this). Alia Bhatt got the National Award, she is an actor of India who was honored by the Government Of India, I also got a National Award at that time, so I congratulated Alia. When Kangana got the National Award, I congratulated her too.”

He added, “I met Alia recently at an award show, She met me very warmly, and I loved the way she met me. Kangana also meets me very warmly whenever she does. Mai do logon ko film mai ek saath kara dun, mera kya lena dena hai unki zindagi se? Mera koi aisa shauk nahi (I bring them both together in a film, what do I have to do with their lives? I have no such Hobby).”

Recently in an interview, Vivek Agnihotri called Alia Bhatt and her family and said, “I'm a fan of Alia Bhatt and Allu Arjun. I feel Alia is a part of my family, and I always admire her work. I like the way she has matured as an actor in the last few years. She has creative intelligence, and that’s why I really like her growth and the way she has conducted herself in public. Whenever there’s a discussion, I refuse to accept anything negative about her. Alia is a great example of how an actor should mature."

Recently, Kangana Ranaut was also seen supporting Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Vaccine War and responded to a report slamming the filmmaker and his film. The actress wrote, “Why do you want to write such nasty things about any film? Does success mean only money?? Why do you all humiliate artists like this? Of all the releases The Vaccine War got the best reviews, a well-made film in itself is not a success? Do all businesses always see profits? Some endeavours bear fruits and some don’t. Why like vultures always looking for corpses? Writing obituaries? Shame on people like you. Someone like you, who sits at home, knows not even F of films, how do you even muster the courage to be so nasty, cruel, and judgemental?”

Helmed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Vaccine War stars Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, and Nana Patekar along with others in key roles. The film was released on Thursday and is garnering a positive response from the audience.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt will be next seen in the movie Jigra which is her own production. The film is helmed by Vasan Bala and will be released in 2024. Kangana Ranaut on the other hand has 2 movies lined up for the year. The actress will be seen in Tejas helmed by Sarvesh Mewara. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on October 20. The actress also has her self-directional Emergency in the pipeline which is scheduled to hit the theatres on November 22.
