Vicky Kaushal recently announced that he would play the role of Sam Maneckshaw in his next movie. Describing his role, Vicky wrote on Instagram, "I feel honoured, emotional and proud of getting a chance to unfold the journey of this fearless patriot, the swashbuckling general, the first Field Marshal of India- SAM MANEKSHAW. Remembering him on his death anniversary today and embracing the new beginnings with @meghnagulzar and #RonnieScrewvala."

Similarly, Akshay Kumar has played a Parsi naval officer in the past. He shared the story of K.M. Nanavati and businessman Prem Ahuja in his 2016 release titled Rustom. However the comparison does not limit to only these two movies.

Vicky Kaushal's upcoming movie is about a revolutionary Udham Singh. For those who have followed Akshay Kumar's Kesari, they would know that the actor played a revolutionary in the movie which was his previous release in the year 2019.

Vicky's first release of the year Uri: The Surgical Strike was based on attack towards who were touted to be terrorists. However the core of the film remained a soldier trying to protect his country from further harm. The heroic concept was also tried by Akshay Kumar in his January 2016 release Airlift. Akshay played a businessman in the movie, who rescues his countrymen from attack from Iraq.

More so similarities can be found between Akshay Kumar-Taapsee Pannu's Baby/Naam Shabana and Vicky Kaushal-Alia Bhatt starrer Raazi too. Apart from the fact that both the female characters were strong enough, the male characters were servants of India, and one gained as much recognition and screen time as the other.

In fact interestingly both the actors will also be seen in a horror franchise soon. In fact it might not be wrong to even say that they are venturing into the genre. Akshay Kumar may have appeared in Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Vidya Balan as the ghost Manjulika, however the movie is termed as a psychological thriller more than a horror film (which is the common assumption among the public). Hence it might not be wrong to say that with Laxmmi Bomb and Bhoot: Part 1 - The Haunted Ship, Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal have made their debut in horror at the same time.
