In a shocking piece of news, actress, television presenter and fitness enthusiast Mandira Bedi's husband, filmmaker-producer Raj Kaushal, 49, passed away Wednesday morning due to a heart attack. Reportedly, Raj was at home when he suffered a heart attack.
The tragic news has come as a shock for his friends and members of the fraternity as it was only on Sunday (June 27) when Raj and Mandira were seen partying with their gang including Neha Dhupia, Angad Bedi, Zaheer Khan, Sagarika Ghatge among others. Raj even took to his Instagram handle to share some photos from his time with his wife Mandira and his friends from the industry.
Soon after the news broke, condolences started pouring in. Indian radio jockey, theatre actor and TV anchor Roshan Abbad wrote on Twitter, "Heard the terrible news about @rajkaushal1. May your Jar of Hope always be filled in the afterlife as it was here. I will miss you terribly. Strength to the family and friends."
"This is unbelievable…. Numb with grief and shock One of our closest …….," actor Rohit Bose Roy wrote on Twitter. He also penned a long note on Instagram alongside a photo with Raj from their younger days. "One of the nicest guys you could ever have met… and if u were lucky, u could have called him your friend… and just like that, he’s gone, even without saying good bye too numb with grief and shock to react… This is not fair, just not fair…Raj, my friend, my brother… keep spreading the cheer where ever your next abode is… Knowing your penchant for good homes, I am sure you are looking for a good spot in heaven RIGHT NOW!
We all loved you dearly and you know that … unfortunately, we kept saying next week next week and that week never came See you on the other side my bro….Till we raise hell again, REST IN PEACE @rajkaushal," Rohit wrote on Instagram.
"Gone too soon. We lost film maker and producer @rajkaushal1 this morning. Very Sad. He was one of the producers of my first film #MyBrotherNikhil. "One of those few who believed in our vision and supported us. Prayers for his soul," Onir wrote on Twitter paying his tributes.
Raj had directed 'Anthony Kaun Hai' (2006), 'Shaadi Ka Laddoo' (2004) and 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi' (1999). He last produced 'My Brother… Nikhil' in 2005.
