Among the 90s actress, Urmila Matondkar was a name who made people believe in dreams and inspired them to become like her. Late actress Jiah Khan seemed to have taken inspiration from her, since Urmila, knowingly or unknowingly, helped Jiah decide that acting career is where she belongs.
If a report on Aaj Tak is to be considered, then Jiah Khan was totally inspired by Urmila Matondkar. After Jiah saw Urmila in Ram Gopal Varma's Rangeela, she was sure that acting is her calling. Rangeela released in 1995, when Jiah was just a six-year-old kid.
She had worked with big names like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. For the uninitiated, Jiah made her debut in Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan's film Dil Se... In the said film, Jiah played the role of a younger Manisha Koirala.
Jiah Khan is the daughter of yesteryear actress Rabia Amin. After the actress' sudden demise, the mother suspected Jiah's then-boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi as the reason for her daughter's death. A case was filed against Sooraj. The court declared him not guilty and termed Jiah's death a case of suicide.
