ED interrogates Rhea Chakraborty, Shruti Modi on Sushant Singh Rajput's Rs 4.30 crore Fixed Deposit

During the ED investigation, they questioned Rhea Chakraborty and her former manager Shruti Modi about Sushant Singh Rajput breaking the fixed deposit (FD) of about Rs 4.30 crore in two days. According to the sources, Shruti stated that she did not know about the FD as she did not see the work of his banking transactions. While Rhea replied that only Sushant can tell why he broke the fixed deposit. 

On November 26, 2019, Sushant had two FDs Rs 2 crore and Rs 2.5 crore respectively at Kotak Mahindra Bank. But on November 28, 2019, the FD was torn down and replaced with fixed deposits of Rs 1 crore each. Shruti expressed unawareness about this when grilled by ED.

Moreover, Sushant's sister Mitu Singh who was called in by ED on Tuesday was also questioned about the fixed deposits.

As per IANS, besides the ED, the CBI is probing the death of Sushant, who was found dead in his Bandra flat in Mumbai on June 14. His father KK Singh had got an FIR registered at the Rajeev Nagar police station in Patna on July 25.

The ED had on July 31 registered the PMLA case on the basis of the FIR in Bihar that alleged that Rs 15 crore was withdrawn or transferred from Sushant`s Kotak Mahindra Bank account. Those booked by the ED included Rhea and her family members, among others.

Sushant's father has accused Rhea of taking money from his son and also threatening to disclose his medical reports to the media. The late actor`s family has also accused her of keeping him away from them.

Meanwhile, the CBI on Monday visited the Faridabad home of the late actor's brother-in-law OP Singh, who is Faridabad Police Commissioner. The CBI team recorded the statements of Sushant's father and sister Rani Singh.
