Deepika Padukone visited Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Tuesday night. She stood in protest with the students at the University. Seeing her with the students, Twitterati went into a tizzy. While some people, mostly accounting certain Bollywood celebrities and media personalities, stood by Deepika, some other demanded boycott of her film Chhapaak.

Dressed in black, Deepika stood in solidarity with the students in protest to the violence which took place on Sunday night. She did so just two days before her movie Chhapaak's release, which caught Twitter's attention. Not only Deepika, but her PR team was also bashed for the same. More so, Twitterati even linked Deepika with the 'Tukde Tukde Gang' and demanded to boycott her movie Chhapaak.

Deepika Padukone visited Delhi for her upcoming movie Chhapaak's promotions. She reportedly conversed with a few reporters who informed her about the situation and her visit to JNU was allegedly a spontaneous move.

In her movie Chhapaak, Deepika Padukone plays the role of an acid-attack survivor, inspired by the story of Laxmi Agarwal. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie also stars Vikrant Massey in the lead role.
