Ramesh Taurani produced horror-comedy 'Bhoot Police' will release on an OTT platform. The ace producer confirmed on Wednesday that this decision has been taken into consideration by the COVID-19 norms. 'Bhoot Police' stars Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.

Ramesh mentioned in an interview with E times, "I had no option. I don't see the theatres opening before November 2021, and that too at 50 per cent capacity. The way things are going, it's still going to take a lot of time to go back to old times."

Like most movies that have been made in the past two years had to bear the brunt of COVID-19 similarly Taurani's upcoming horror-comedy is having a similar experience. Premiering in September, the film marks the first outing of Saif and Arjun onscreen alongside Jacqueline and Yami who will be seen as the leading ladies. The film is said to be a horror-comedy with a storyline that goes around two hunters that are ghosts.

Several successful movies namely 'Roohi' and 'Stree' in the same genre turned out to be successful and well viewed by the Indian audience. Hence, to widen the explore range, the producer and director Pavan Kripalani who has directed well-known movies like 'Ragini MMS' are working around more storylines in the horror-comedy genre. This upcoming movie is perceived to bring an added dimension to the 'OTT revolution'.

The makers haven't announced which platform will it particularly be released in but it has been speculated that it might get premiered on Disney+ Hotstar.
