The BJP faction loyal to former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has put on hold their plan to quit enmasse as their hopes of party high command agreeing for leadership change in state have brightened.

Yeddyurappa loyalists, on Monday, exuded confidence that Gowda would be eased out the chief minister’s post within a few days. If not, the faction has formulated a strategy to ensure his ouster through resignation of nine ministers belonging to Yeddyurappa camp.
“The national leaders, who have spoken to Yeddyurappa, have already assured that this time, they will accept the demand for change of chief minister in the state,” said a close associate of Yeddyurappa requesting anonymity.
“Our leader Yeddyurappa, who is admitted to Jindal nature cure institute, will be discharged on June 28. If the high command does not listen to us this time, all the ministers who are supporting him will resign and let Sadananda Gowda enjoy all the portfolios,” he added.
Meantime, Yeddyurappa, who has supposed to take rest at the nature cure institute, was busy holding talks with his supporters throughout the day.
Ministers SR Bommai and Murugesh Nirani, MP Renukacharya and others had an hour-long discussion with him.
“We came here to inquire about the health of our leader. Everyone knows the political developments in the state. And we are hoping that leaders in the party will listen to us,” said Renukacharya.
Once Yeddyurappa is discharged, his supporters will meet BJP in-charge of the state Dharmendra Pradhan who is expected in Bangalore in the first week of July.
They are planning to install panchayat raj minister Jagadish Shettar as the new chief minister.
